As part of a service design basic course at Aalto University, I along with Nicole (Another student) analyzed the company "SunContract" to evaluate if their services met realistic needs. By conducting various canvases, we assessed and tested their service design, identifying strengths and areas for improvement. This project honed my skills in service design methodology and critical analysis.
This task helped understand the potential users and as a service designer we could think from their perspective
Identified Problems and Solutions
Awareness Gap: Utilize internet search and advertisements to increase awareness and provide trustworthy information.
Consumer Confusion: Offer clear, grouped FAQs for easy clarification.
Data Collection Concerns: Ensure transparent data handling and market comparisons.
Onboarding Complexity: Streamline with clear instructions and responsive support.
Pricing Transparency: Provide transparent pricing and benefits using testimonials.
Platform Stability: Partner with reliable producers and ensure stable data tracking.
Stages of Innovation
Phase 1: Conceptualization and initial development.
Phase 2: Implementation and testing.
Phase 3: Commercialization and scaling for market expansion.
Aligning Values of Energy Consumers and Producers Key Misalignments
Knowledge Gap: Consumers lack understanding of blockchain and energy markets, while producers need insights into optimizing utility and market fluctuations.
Trust Issues: Both parties face trustability concerns, affecting contract reliability and transparency.
Technology Adoption: Consumers seek ease of use, whereas producers require smart technology for efficient energy management.
Contract Complexity: Complicated terms and unclear contracts frustrate consumers; producers need simplified contract templates.
Mapping the consumer’s journey from research to signup ensures all development and design teams have a unified understanding of the user experience and context for product development.
